This is a Self Paced 20-hour course or an 8 hour Workshop delivered over 2 evenings at our Latrobe (Tasmania) campus. Developed to help you understand more about bees, beekeeping and honey.

If you have ever been curious about keeping your own bees and you have no idea where to start, this course is for you. This course will help you understand more about bee biology, bee hierarchy, bee hives and how to integrate bees into your garden and within the landscape.

Study this course for a foundation in bees, beekeeping and honey. Develop an understanding of how to manage bees in the environment, and in the hive. Learn to produce and harvest honey and understand more ways of using what you produce. What you learn here can benefit both people who already keep bees, as well as people who aspire to keep bees. If you want to understand the subject more broadly and in greater depth, this is a really good way of doing that.
Our 20 hour courses are self paced and will help you understand a topic in a short amount of time. You can work through the course when you like- test yourself with mini-tests along the way. There are extra case studies or research you can undertake if you would really like to get into the topic. Once you have completed the lessons and self assessment tasks, there is a final exam undertaken online- you can then download your personalised certificate.
